artist statement

I shot my first landscape of a mountain across from my grandparents’ farm when I was about 8 years old and I have been taking photos every since.

Since retiring in 2021, I have found a deep connection with the world through my lens. My photography has become my way of exploring the beauty in the landscape that tell stories of time, place, mood and emotion. My work focuses on capturing the quiet yet powerful presence of water, mountains, fields, rustic farms, and weathered barns—each shaped by the forces of nature and light.
Inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, my photos seek to convey the changing moods of nature. Whether it’s the golden hour glow on a barn or the shifting tides of the ocean, I strive to reflect the moments where nature’s simplicity meets profound beauty.
Photography allows me to share these fleeting moments of often overlooked grace in the everyday world.
